Free Surveys
If you love to waste your time taking surveys, here's a free survey site that actually pays you some money for your effort and time. There are also some fun things like playing games for money and getting paid to read emails. I as always feel that there are more productive things I could do with my time. But some people swear by surveys for picking up extra pocket money.
Well I never thought that I'd find a FREE survey site that actually paid off. But, I was sitting around this morning watching Good Morning America and they started talking about SendEarnings.com. Well, I was intrigued so I went over and signed up. and Yes Virginia it was FREE.. A complete violation of rule 4.
OK, Now here's the scoop.
is your average sign-up-for-this-offer-and-we'll-give-you-money website funded entirely by advertisements. The difference, however, is that SendEarnings also allows you to do other things to earn money through them besides their offers, you can also do paid emails, surveys, cash-back shopping, cash games through World Winner, and referrals. The payout is at $30. The sign on bonus is $5. The buildup for cash is pretty slow, and your first check has a waiting period of about a month and a half for processing (and to make sure you stay a member after being paid, as they will cancel your check if you become inactive). They hold a monthly sweepstakes and have a program called Gold that once you've received your first pay out you no longer have to wait a month for processing to receive payment. You will also receive a percentage from the pool of unrefereed. new users, and a special discount offer.
* Cash offers range between $0.10 and about $25.00 per offer. Some are sort of scammy, and require you to buy something (like some new herbal weight loss formula, or a trial to some gimmicky pyramid scheme), but a lot of the lower payout offers are sites worth joining (ciao is one of them, that's actually how I found this site). If you can't keep track of your time well (timed offers, free trials, etc) I wouldn't recommend doing any of the high payout offers.
* Paid emails are easy. They send you a couple of emails a week (or more, depends on the week) and they pay you per click. It's basically pay-per-click advertising, but it's easy and only takes a few seconds out of your day. I recommend setting up a separate email for them, or using gmail's filtering features, to keep them from clogging up your inbox. But I highly recommend doing them - even if they take a while to accrue cash, they add up. I have about $3 from them in my account right now.
* Surveys on this site feel very limited to me. I've tried a lot of survey sites and have had better luck with other ones. The generic payout per survey here, regardless of length, is $0.50. Sometimes it's worth it, sometimes it isn't. I found myself frequently filling out screener questions only to be denied the survey. I think they need a better algorithm for finding surveys for their users. But since the survey system is sort of a side project for them, I don't see anything new coming any time soon. On the other hand, it's nice to have everything in one place, so I do do a few surveys now and again.
* Cash-back shopping is an advertising exchange between SendEarnings and various companies. They pay SE for the advertising, and in exchange SE gives you a motivator to sponsor them. Ranging from 0.5% to 18% cash back on purchases done through the site. Their thought is to bring in new customers to a lot of companies you've never heard of - if shopping is up your alley, go for it! If you rarely shop, you should do what I do and just use it as a gateway to places you already frequent (EBay, Petsmart, Newegg, Etc)
* Cash games is a partnership between SendEarnings and WorldWinner. WorldWinner is a website that lets you play anything from Poker to Chuzzle (and Bejeweled!) competitively against other real players. To play in tournaments you have to put down an initial $10. During the tournaments WW takes a fee for hosting it (which is rather steep, but I digress) and the winner earns the rest. For example a five player tournament with a $1 entry fee earns WW $1.50. $5.00 - $1.50 = $3.50 for the winner. I felt confident in trying it out, but it's actually banned in my state. Eight states are banned from having skill games for money. Because these are contests and not wagers on luck, it is not considered to be gambling, and is therefore legal in most places. I think it's a bit of a scam, but I haven't actually gotten a chance to try it out. I've read a lot of mixed reviews, and I get the impression a lot of the disappointed people try to make it sound like a scam because they are frustrated that they weren't good enough to win the contests.
Overall I'm pretty satisfied with SendEarnings. The earning is slow, but I feel like it's constant, and it's always nice to have a little extra cash every once in a while. It's definitely not going to make you a millionaire, but it's one of the few sites of it's kind where the time spend/earnings ratio seems pretty fair.If you prefer the surveys, I really recommend checking out some other survey sites Like SurveyScout or Make Money Taking Surveys
